This stamp was issued in May 1840 in the United Kingdom, the Penny Black is actually the very first adhesive stamp in the world, which is the main reason it is considered very valuable. Although it is not the rarest or even the most valuable collector’s item, they actually set the path for the future of British postage stamps.
